Accu-Time Announces RoHS Compliance

Accu-Time Systems, Inc., the pioneer and leader in Human Capital Management (HCM) biometric solutions, marks another industry first by being the first US-based HCM terminal provider to announce RoHS compliance. “Strong International growth for ATS in the European Union accelerated our compliance with the RoHS directive” recalls ATS founder and CEO Peter DiMaria, “which now makes ATS well positioned to serve our domestic customers as RoHS is adopted in the United States.”
The RoHS legislation (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) sets maximum concentration limits for hazardous materials used in electrical and electronic equipment, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). RoHS took effect and became enforceable in the European Union on 1 July 2006. The United States is expected to follow suit. At the time of writing, the State of California had passed similar legislation that becomes effective on 1 January 2007, and 26 other States are considering similar legislation.
ATS have been shipping RoHS compliant products for consumption by their European partners since the July 1st, 2006 deadline, with all ATS products being RoHS compliant to meet the California deadline. According to Michael Glynn, ATS Corporate Marketing Director: “ATS has a duty to not only prepare for the upcoming United States adoption of RoHS, but to also be a responsible global citizen. As such, ATS will proactively bring its entire product portfolio into compliance well ahead of the official US adoption.”
Shown below is the schedule of ATS RoHS compliance by Product Line:

•           Cyber Series by June 2006
•           Century Series by December 2006
•           Optimu Line: Fully compliant
•           Future products: Fully compliant.

Additional information on RoHS and ATS compliance can be found on the ATS website at www.accu-time.com/rohs. Concluded Mr DiMaria: “Our partners and customers appreciate and value the fact that ATS is looking forward to what is coming next and being proactive. It is this spirit that separates ATS as an innovative and strategic partner.”ATS is the leading provider of biometric and non-biometric workforce management tools, offering state-of-the-art solutions for time and attendance, payroll and security access.
